ILLUQ project studies what happens to organic matter and contaminants that are released from the thawing arctic permafrost. In collaboration with local stakeholders, it will provide the first holistic look at permafrost thaw, pollution and human and environmental well-being in the Arctic.

ILLUQ is an EU-funded Horizon Europe project.

Arctic Permafrost Atlas

The Arctic Permafrost Atlas consolidates the latest science and information on permafrost and offers insights into the diverse aspects and impacts of permafrost thaw. It uses maps, prose, art and personal stories to provide a holistic and inclusive view of today’s challenges in the “country of permafrost”.
