In the beginning of May, the ILLUQ consortium convened in the beatiful Sesimbra in Portugal for its first General Assembly. This annual meeting was designed to review the progress of the project and prepare for the 1st periodic reporting to the EU.
It was the general impression among the participants that the meeting was fruitful, efficient and intense with plenary sessions higlighting the project current status together with breakout groups and informal meetings between the sessions.
The project has a rotating Early Career Researcher as part of its Steering Committee. One of the tasks of the ECR rep is the organization of the ECR workshop during the annual meetings, along with a social activity for the whole group. This year's activity was a beach castle competition with a title "build your science". The creations ranged from places we go to the activities we do and animals we (hopefully) see.
Below some impressions from the beach.
